Magick by Intention: Peace and Serenity Magick

Peace and Serenity Magick, ah, I feel so much more relaxed just thinking about it! As one could imagine this is a very easy sort of magick to do. The herbs and oils involved in magick for peace and calm are almost all very much used in aromatherapy applications for the same purposes, so it is even easy to acquire them, so no stress there!

Magick by Intention: Purification

Purification AND CLEANSING Magick is done as a matter of course, and also to prepare a person, place or thing for higher purpose magick to come. We have all come into contaminants, whether garden soil, industrial pollutants, disease or energetic "slime" which must be washed away for us to feel comfortable.

Purification magick will often take advantage of Water or Fire Element, and Sun, Mercury, and Moon Planetary energies.

Magick by Intention: Protection

Protection Magick, judging by the index of Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magickal Herbs (as I do on regular occasion), shows Protection to be THE biggest magickal concern by the sheer number of plants that have been wielded to defend Self, children, kin, home, property, beasts, crops, and the wide open landscape.

Where once we sought protection from beasts and the crueler aspects of Nature, we now more often seek protection from other humans, from the ravages of war and from the criminal element of our civilized lives. Ingredients of many protection potions will mostly draw from the Elemental power of Fire and Earth, and from the Sun and Mars Planetary power. Many will have a strong, pungent scent and tend to activate the mind and awareness of our surroundings.

Magick by Type: Occult Magick

Occult Magick is a type of magick that could be defined (I'm giving it a stab at least!) as the sorts of magick that arose from and were developed and explored by secret societies. The word "Occult" means "hidden," and the reason for the secrecy was (and sometimes and some places most certainly still is!) that the Practitioners were practicing their art in the context of cultures that considered all magick to be, by definition, Evil. The occult magickians of the Masons, Rosicrucians, Knights Templar, and their spiritual progeny, the Golden Dawn, and modern day O.T.O. at times despise these unfair prejudices, and at times enjoy their notoriety immensely!

Occult magick is firmly rooted in the Western Tradition (arguably it is the foundation of it) and it also accepts tributaries of Egyptian and Kabbalistic magickal traditions. As a member of the Western Tradition, it shares with Natural Magick the employment of the Elemental and Planetary tiers of correspondence. Aside from "natural magick," occult magick will include more magick of entirely human construct or seemingly so, or "revealed" systems like Enochian magick, and the systems of angels and demons such as in the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Magick by Intention: Money, Employment and Prosperity Magick

Money, Employment and Prosperity Magick together are a very large body of magick and material! It might be that the first magick property attributed to a plant was prosperity, because what else could the successful harvest of barley be? Working with the soil, with the seed that gives the bountiful crop, building our cities and granaries from the ground up could all be seen as a worshipful reverence for the Earth, and acknowledgement of our complete dependence on Her.

Any Prosperity magick potion or working will begin with an Earth Elemental basis. The gas giant Planet Jupiter, with its color like a gold coin, is the lead Planet, especially for matters involving growth and expansion. Water is also used, as we speak of "cash flow." Fire has it's place in Money magick, since there are aspects of power in wealth, and the lovely Planet Venus is a secondary Planet for profit, especially in job and employment formulations, which combine prosperity ingredients with ones for seduction. Venus and Jupiter are both in agreement about The Finer Things and The Good Life!

Magick by Type: Moon Magick

Moon Magick is a worship in it's own rite! Or a means to any end. What could be more magickal than the rise of a big Full Moon? As we learned to count the days of its cycle, the Moon is probably the first math teacher to humanity, and it taught us to make the first correspondences with a heavenly body: the affect of the phases of the Moon is easy to see in women's fertility cycles and in the tides of the Seas. From this very clear instruction, we were able to then get the idea to correlate the less obvious movements and affects of the other "Fixed Stars," or Planets. The Magick of the Moon, and its phases is actually a part of the Magick of the Planets.

The Moon plays a huge part of the Natural Magick process. As the heavenly body closest to the Earth, whatever is going on with the Moon has a much bigger affect on Earthy affairs than the more remote Planets, with the exception of the Sun, whose massive size and gravity, and radiation of energy, make it the most powerful Celestial Ruler. Moon's influence is a gentling of the harsher elements of space: without the Moon, we would not have regular seasons, a stable North and South Pole, and therefor tectonic plate movements and geothermal activity would probably be too violent to support life on Earth, and meteors of devastating size would pelt the Earth mercilessly. Is that enough reason to dance under the Full Moon? We owe a lot to our beloved Luna!

Just as any sort of magick can be divided into either of the four Elements, or into the powers of the seven Planets, so can all sorts of magicks be given to the rulership of the phases of the Moon. The New Moon brings any magick of freshness, beginning and newness, the Waxing Moon is for building on our projects, the Full Moon is the highest power and potency for magicks of fullness and achievement, the Waning Moon aids and magick of minimizing, reduction, making things go away, release. The Dark Moon is the mystery, a time for introspective work, or alternatively, any magick that is secretive or woeful in nature. Banishings and exorcisms also benefit from the Dark Face of Luna.

Magick by Intention: Luck Magick

Luck Magick often overlaps with magick of Uncrossing. It is my belief that luck, serendipity and good fortune are the natural states of life, an indication that we are riding the Zen wave skillfully! Bad luck would therefor be the result of a crossed condition, whether it be a hex cast by an enemy, an accident of Fate, or simply the accumulation of one's own series of bad decisions. Lucky magick potions will almost always have some cleansing or purifying ingredients along with the others believed to bring good luck and blessings. Luck magick ingredients are mostly under the Jupiter planetary powers.

Magick by Type: Elemental Magick

ELEMENTAL MAGICK is a basic tier of magickal correspondence to the Western Tradition. All things on Earth, and all magickal goals can be categorized as a function of the powers of Air, Fire, Water, Earth (the cardinal elements which correspond to the Four Directions, and sometimes to Spirit alone, the Fifth Sacred Thing, which is composed of and at the same time the origin of the Four.

In other words, any type of magick you might endeavor can be accomplished with one or a combination of the basic Elements, and all potions made in the Natural Magick tradition take into account the Elemental powers of each ingredient.

The Air element is the principle of wind, speech, thought, ideas, self-discipline, and joy, and Air oil or incense could be used to magickally evoke any of these powers, or to mark the Eastern corner of a Temple. The Fire element is the principle of heat, passion, activity, work, and desire, so Fire oil or incense could be used for any of these types of workings, or to summon the Southern Watchtower. The Water element is the principle of emotions, psychism, compassion, peace, healing, and dreams in the West, and Earth element is the principle of physicality, wealth, growth, grounding, mysteries, and secrets of the North. The Spirit element is the principle of connection, magick, change, transformation and Divinity, and is seen as existing as the Center of the magick Circle, as the Circle itself, and as the Multiverse beyond the Sacred Circle.

Elemental oils and incenses are often used in a ritual setting is for the calling of the Four (or Five) Directions, Guardians, Watchtowers, or however they are called in your tradition. The oils can be used to anoint candles which mark each of the directions, or the incense can be burned to emphasize each direction as it it summoned.

Magick by Intention: Dream Magick

Dream Magick is probably something we are working

on every night, whether we realize it or not! The state of consciousness which is ideal for magick is very close to, if not the same sate of subconscious interconnection that we experience while asleep and dreaming. Dream state is a direct link to the Collective Unconsciousness where self and other are shown to be the false duality they really are. The challenge to the Practitioner is to be able to integrate the Conscious Will into the Dream landscape. Often known as lucid dreaming, this practice is the active participation in contrast with what is usually the inactive state where we receive our dreams and stories, messages sometimes psychic and prophetic in nature, through our dreams. Many a Practitioner has found satisfying exploration of this state of mind which occupies so much of our mortal lifetime.

The potions of dream work will enjoy the energies of Water and Moon almost exclusively. There should be a very relaxing, restful scent, which is nonetheless very memorable.

Magick by Intention: Beauty Magick

Beauty Magick could really come under the Love and Attraction category, but that one is so huge, I thought to separate it out. The magick of Beauty is for a large part a synthesis of Healing, Happiness, and Sexual Attraction, with a bit of Glamour to boot! While we can't necessarily change the bone structure of our face, we can promote healthy skin with herbs. Much of my work with Beauty formulations is the intersection between herbs used magickally for Beauty, and those used in modern times for skin health, antioxidant, and cancer-fighting properties. For example, Calendula is used for Courtroom situations, to be seen in "the best light possible" and as a beauty magick flower. It also appears in many cosmetics and skin care formulae for its antioxidant, antimicrobial and healing properties.

Happiness also plays a big part in Beauty as well, so you will find things like Catnip, Lavender, Melissa and Neroli in these potions as well. Everyone is more beautiful with a relaxed smile on their face!

I wanted to give you an update on my job situation....
I went by your house to pick up my oils on Wed 4/9. The following day I lit a green candle with the symbol you showed me for money and wrote on the glass "I Am Prosperous" with gold paint. I also dabbed it with the Money, Good Job & Success oils. That evening I saw an ad for an Office Manager and sent my resume. The following morning on 4/11 I got a call from the recruiting agency. She wanted me to come to her office on Monday so she could meet me and have me take some tests. After meeting with her on Mon, she scheduled the interview for Tues (following day) with the company hiring the Office Manager. I went on the interview on Tues and it went very well. I was also told that aprox 10 people were going to be interviewed. I was invited back for a second interview 2 days later on Thurs and offered the job! (that was on 4/17....just a couple of days ago). All of this happened in only 8 days since I went to pick up the oils and started using them. To put all of this into perspective: I was working with a very controlling man who was very abusive to his daughter who also worked with me in the office. He had awful energy. Before him I had walked out of a job I had been at only 2 weeks because the boss raised her voice to me (I think I told you this when I met you). I had also told you that I desperately wanted to "shift" my employment situation as circumstances had been quite negative in the workforce for at least 2 years (I had had 7 jobs in 2007). The man at the company I was working at was paying me $12/hr. At my new job I was offered $18.50/hr.! And the woman I who owns this company --- that I will be working with --- is about 60yrs old and oozes warmth and kindness. For the first time in a LONG time, I really think this is going to be a nice place to work at.
The reason I wanted to update you is because everything shifted when I began to use the oils I bought from you.
