FULL MOON MUSE Feb. 24, 2013 with Natural Magick Shop‏

Hi there Natural Magickians!

Here in Texas we are experiencing a very early Spring! This bright Full Moon leads us into Pisces, and into Mercury Retrograde. Enough has been written about Mercury Retrograde elsewhere, and I'm sure there is an online support group where we can share our laments!

Just FYI, Natural Magick Shop observes the following contraindications and precautions for the formulation of some tools and potions during Mercury Retrograde:

• Since the god and planet Mercury rule over the creation of alchemical potions, magickal tools and the like, I don't invent a new potion during Mercury Retrograde, UNLESS the potion is naturally a dark/mischievous aspect of Mercury, such as Loki oil, Puck oil, and Eris oil. All of these were invented intentionally during Mercury Retrograde.
• Potions and tools that are directly under the rule of Mercury in his direct (bright) aspect are not made during Mercury Retrograde, such as Hermes oil, Mercury oil, Mercury incense, Mercury Planetary oil, and magick Wands.

If you are looking for an antidote to the symptoms of Mercury Retrograde, you could employ Mercury Planetary oil or Mercury incense. Since both are invented on and made only in Mercury Direct, they are made with the energies to help counter the Retrograde. For example, my fiancee and I were scheduled to sign a lease for our house last year during a Mercury Retrograde. Not an ideal situation, right? So we created a "Mercury Direct" magick pen, using Mercury Planetary oil and an imaginative Time Magick visualization. We were able to sign the lease and even hand the pen to our new landlords so that magickally, our legal document was signed under Mercury's positive direction. We have enjoyed a stable and friendly relationship with our landlords ever since!

Our next Sabbat is Ostara, also known as Eostar. It is all about bunnies and eggs, right? This holiday is great for kids and those of us who practice the Craft in witchcraft. So if any of us enjoyed dyeing Easter eggs or eating the heads off chocolate Easter bunnies, or spit-pasting Peeps to your little brother's forehead, well, not much has changed! Eostar egg hunts on the actual date of Spring Equinox (this year March 20th) are becoming more prominent and socially acceptable. (One friend of mine said "They stole the holiday from us, now we are stealing it back!")

To step back from any theology, this rite of spring could also be interpreted as letting children take the first steps toward providing for themselves and their families. If any kid gives me an Eostar egg or Peep, I will thank them wholeheartedly!
If you want to anoint yourself or any co-celebrants with Ostara oil or burn Ostara incense, it will all be in the Spirit of the holiday.
